  2. ║                           My First Love                                 ║
  3. ║                                                                         ║
  4. ║                I'll always remember my very first love,                 ║
  5. ║                and the heartbreak that I had,                           ║
  6. ║                so I thought I'd put this story to verse,                ║
  7. ║                although it's pretty sad.                                ║
  8. ║                                                                         ║
  9. ║                She was such a beautiful thing,                          ║
  10. ║                with hair of golden silk,                                ║
  11. ║                with skin so soft, a complexion so pure,                 ║
  12. ║                as a bowl of honey and milk.                             ║
  13. ║                                                                         ║
  14. ║                The only thing that I could see,                         ║
  15. ║                that could ever cause us trouble,                        ║
  16. ║                was a difference in our heights,                         ║
  17. ║                so my efforts were redoubled.                            ║
  18. ║                                                                         ║
  19. ║                I was of an average size,                                ║
  20. ║                'bout five foot ten or so,                               ║
  21. ║                but she was only six inches high,                        ║
  22. ║                somehow she'd failed to grow.                            ║
  23. ║                                                                         ║
  24. ║                She slept at night in a little box,                      ║
  25. ║                the kind that held new shoes,                            ║
  26. ║                and she'd cover up with a hand-towel,                    ║
  27. ║                when she'd lay down to snooze.                           ║
  28. ║                                                                         ║
  29. ║                She drank her coffee from a toothpaste cap,              ║
  30. ║                used a pill bottle lid for a plate,                      ║
  31. ║                with a postage stamp upon her lap,                       ║
  32. ║                for a napkin whenever she ate.                           ║
  33. ║                                                                         ║
  34. ║                I took her with me wherever I went,                      ║
  35. ║                and loved her more each day,                             ║
  36. ║                We'd go for walks all through the park,                  ║
  37. ║                in my breast pocket she'd stay.                          ║
  38. ║                                                                         ║
  39. ║                A few times around the house,                            ║
  40. ║                she'd sit on the floor and play,                         ║
  41. ║                and once I almost squashed her,                          ║
  42. ║                before she ran out of the way.                           ║
  43. ║                                                                         ║
  44. ║                Then one day when I woke up,                             ║
  45. ║                and went to the bathroom to brush,                       ║
  46. ║                I spotted the lid to the toilet tank,                    ║
  47. ║                it was open - so over I rushed,                          ║
  48. ║                                                                         ║
  49. ║                When I looked in I began to cry,                         ║
  50. ║                it was more than I could stand,                          ║
  51. ║                for my little tiny sweetheart,                           ║
  52. ║                had eloped with the Tidy Bowl man.                       ║
